Method

How the data is built.

The Bank of Ghana sells Treasury bills at a discount every week, on behalf of the government, to primary dealers. The rates here are the weighted average rates the Bank publishes for each bill: the discount rate, and the interest-rate equivalent, which is the return on the price paid. For a bill of t days, the interest rate equals the discount rate divided by (1 minus the discount rate times t/364).

Weekly figures are the results of each Government of Ghana securities tender, from the Bank's notices to banks and the public, starting with tender 2005 on 30 April 2026. Earlier figures are month-end rates from the Bank's Statistical Bulletin. The amount accepted is the total of bids the Bank accepted for each bill, in GH¢ million.

The table shows the auctions Anansi holds and marks the weeks it does not, so nothing is filled in or estimated. Monthly rates from the Bank's Summary of Economic and Financial Data are left out, because that summary does not say whether its rate is a discount or an interest rate.

Anansi checks the Bank of Ghana for new tender results every day. This page and its CSV are rebuilt from Anansi's record when the page is updated.
